Getting to know the Kent U16 Girls Developing Player Pathway

Kent are hosting a ‘Getting to know us’ event on Sunday 2 July at Medway RFC for players interested in joining the England Rugby Developing Player Pathway (ERDPP) for U16 Girls for the 2023-24 season. Players will meet at 10.00am for a 10.30 start. The session will finish at 12.30.

The ERDPP is an additional training program, on top of Club or School training, for players who have the potential and ambition to progress further in their rugby. Players selected for the ERDPP will attend 12 training sessions over the course of the season and participate in at least one playing opportunity as part of the Kent squad.

Assessments for the ERDPP will take place on Sunday 6 August, with details to be advertised shortly. To allow players to find out more about the program, Kent are holding a ‘Getting to know us’ event for players who are currently in school years 9 and 10 (who will be in years 10 and 11 from September).

This is not an assessment day, but a chance for players to get a feel for the ERDPP environment and the standard required, and for the Kent coaches to see the players who are interested in taking part. Players are to self-nominate for the ‘Getting to know you’ event – club or school nomination is not required. However, club and school coaches are welcome to attend and observe the session.

Attending the ‘Getting to know you’ event is not a pre-requisite for attending an assessment for the ERDPP program.

Players must be:

  • In school years 9 or 10 currently (school years 10 and 11 from September)
  • Eligible to play for Kent, meaning they meet at least one of the following criteria

  • Play rugby at a Kent club
  • Attend school in Kent
  • NOT already a member of the U16 ERDPP program (however players who attended the “School of Prop” but did not participate in the wider ERDPP program are able to attend).
