Ashford Rugby Club are looking for a Head Coach to lead the 2024-25 season.

Head coach role 

Ashford Rugby Club currently playing in counties 1 Kent(Level 7) is seeking a highly motivated, player focused Head Coach to lead the club for the 2024/25 season. The part time role involves leading training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and matches on Saturday afternoons. In addition to this the Head Coach will also have some responsibility outside of these times.


• Develop and implement training sessions that focus on improving players’ technical and tactical abilities across the clubs senior section. There needs to be evidence of short term and long term planning.

• Work with the management team to select the best team for each game

• Attend all matches and training sessions 

• Work closely with the medical team ensuring player welfare is at the forefront of decisions

• Support club volunteers with the recruitment of new players and transition of existing players

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with players, coaching staff, and club officials

• Collaborate with the club’s Director of Rugby to ensure the smooth running of the clubs senior playing section in line with the Director of Rugby

• Attend all club events as required.

• Build and maintain relationships with the clubs mini and junior section to ensure there is a pipeline of players being developed to fit in with the “one club” culture.


• Minimum RFU Level 2 coaching qualification or equivalent

• Proven experience in coaching rugby at a similar level or High, with a track record of developing players and teams

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate players

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• A positive and professional attitude
