BRFC are looking to recruit an experienced and ambitions senior head coach who can show a fantastic work ethic to lead the coaching team, currently competing in Counties Kent 1 (level 7).

Ideally experience from coaching at this level or even higher would be an advantage, as would having junior player coaching experience.

The role is to lead the club and to develop players to fulfil their potential across the whole senior playing squad, currently consisting of three teams.

Skill & Experience

  • A strong understanding and knowledge of match play including set piece, running moves and motivational skills
  • Strong analytical skills for the whole squad and individual analysis, video camera available on match days
  • Experience in delivering presentations to team players
  • Coaching experience within a performance rugby environment
  • Ability to plan engaging coaching sessions and manage support coaches
  • Create a strong relationship with fellow coaches and the executive management team

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and drive a playing culture aligned to the clubs playing ethos
  • Communicate clearly with players and members of the wider club and be the go-to person for coaching direction and advice
  • Analyse strengths and weaknesses of both individual and team performances 
  • Understand opposition and devise game plans accordingly
  • Assist where possible in player recruitment to senior teams
  • Support the learning of all club coaches down to the minis level and assist in developing coaching competencies throughout the club


  • RFU Level 2 Coaching Certificate, Level 3+ preferable
  • Knowledge of current coaching and training programmes and how to play with the current trends within the game of rugby

This is a part time position ideal for a coach who can be available on two weekday evenings plus Saturday afternoons. Probably will require a 10-month commitment per year. A salary will be paid based on the experience and track record of the successful candidate.

BRFC are looking to fill this vacancy urgently so that the successful coach can in place by June to start preseason training and meet the players before the season commences.
