Old Gravesendians RFC – Men’s Assistant Coach Opportunity

Old Gravesendians RFC is looking for an assistant coach. The role would support the head coach in delivering club training sessions on a Tuesday and Thursday evening, developing the skillset across the playing squad, and be regularly available to support the matchday squads on a Saturday during the season.

The role is being advertised on a voluntary basis – with the club supporting the development of the assistant coach, including relevant courses and training as required. The assistant coach would also be provided with club training gear to support their role.

The development of the assistant coach would be overseen and supported by the head coach who will take an active role in their progression and development.

The ideal candidate would:

  • Have previous knowledge of the game, either in a playing or coaching capacity, ideally in the senior rugby environment
  • Be prepared to support the development of Old Gravesendians players – across all skill levels and abilities.
  • Have a desire to develop and enhance the skillset and performance of the Old Gravesendians 2nd team – ensuring a consistent playing style is applied across both 1st and 2nd teams.
  • Have the drive and ambition to support and at times lead club training sessions. 
  • Have the ambition to develop as a coach in a senior rugby environment.
  • Have a current first aid qualification.
  • Have undertaken a DBS check – or be prepared to do so.
