Thanet Wanderers RUFC are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and hardworking, Physiotherapist/Sports Therapist for the 2022/23 rugby season.

Reports to: TW Head of Medical and TW Director of Senior Rugby

Key Relationships: Team Manager, Head Coach, Assistant Coach

Nature & Scope of the Job:

This is an exceptional development opportunity for someone looking to enhance their skills in sport medicine. The successful candidate will be expected to join our physiotherapy team to support senior training sessions and match day medical care, providing high standards of care to adult playing members. The role will cover First XV fixtures at League Level 7 and will involve evening and weekend work. Additional mentoring provided to team by Elite level Rugby Head of Medicine.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • First XV Match days
  • Cover Senior Training Sessions
  • Pitch side care
  • First Aid
  • Strapping
  • Injury Treatment
  • Sports Massage

Knowledge, Skills and Qualities:

  • Applicants must hold Bsc Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy or equivalent
  • Have or willing to work towards a First Aid qualification
  • Experience of working within a sporting environment preferred
  • Full indemnity insurance
  • Membership of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and registration with Health Care Professional (HCPC), Society of Sports Therapist (SST or equivalent)
  • Experience in Manual Therapy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in the provision of Sports Therapy/Physiotherapy to a range of adults
  • Strapping and Taping experience

Hours of work:

Tuesday evening 18:30-20:30

Thursday evening 18:30-20:30

Saturday match days


Successful candidate would work on a self-employed basis. Fees for Match days, as well as training will be agreed subject to relevant experience. Mileage expenses also available for away matches. Consumables provided by TWRUFC.
