
Kent County Rugby Football Union would like to extend its warmest congratulations to our member club Blackheath F.C.following their outstanding victory over London Scottish F.C. in the Champ Rugby accession play-off today Sat 23rd May.
Blackheath produced a superb performance to secure a 27–7 win at the Richmond Athletic Ground, completing a remarkable season and earning promotion to the second tier of English rugby for the 2026/27 campaign.
Having finished second in National One before overcoming Plymouth Albion in the promotion play-off, “Club” have shown consistency, ambition and quality throughout the season underlining the strength of rugby within Kent.
Founded in 1858 and recognised as the oldest open rugby club in continuous existence in the world, Blackheath continue to play a hugely important role in the game both within Kent and nationally.
Everyone at Kent County RFU congratulates the players, coaches, staff, volunteers and supporters on this fantastic achievement and wishes the club every success in Champ Rugby next season.
