Club Match Official Programme Returns

Kent County RFU and the Kent Society of Rugby Football Union Referees (KSRFUR) are pleased to confirm the return of the Club Match Official Programme (CMOP).

Following a highly successful first year, the programme continues to provide dedicated support and development opportunities for club-based referees across Kent.

Designed to enhance confidence, game management, and decision-making, CMOP offers:

• Practical coaching sessions
• Mentoring and feedback
• Guidance on foul play and Match Official Abuse (MOA)
• Law updates and discussion
• Connection into a supportive refereeing community

A Programme Built Around Club Referees

CMOP is specifically structured to support referees within their club environment. Participants continue refereeing for their clubs while benefiting from additional development and mentoring.

The aim is simple:
better-supported referees → better match experiences → stronger club rugby

What’s the Commitment?

The programme is designed to be accessible and manageable:

✔ Attendance at a couple of training sessions
✔ Active participation in a dedicated WhatsApp support group

The WhatsApp group provides a valuable space to:

• Stay up to date with law developments
• Ask questions
• Share experiences
• Discuss challenging match situations
• Learn from peers and mentors

Helping referees feel more confident and prepared when they next take the whistle.

Who Should Join?

CMOP is ideal for referees who are:

• Currently officiating at club level
• Keen to develop their skills
• Looking for support and feedback
• Interested in building confidence and consistency
