Final league positions for the community game have been confirmed

Final League Positions For The Community Game Have Been Confirmed.

Following the early end of the rugby season in England as a result of COVID-19, The Rugby Football Union has announced the final league positions.

Proposals from the RFU governance committee to conclude the season for those leagues at both professional and community level were yesterday ratified by the RFU Council.

It was agreed that final standings for the Greene King IPA Championship and men’s and women’s community game would be calculated on a best playing record formula maintaining promotion and relegation for those leagues.

Final Tables

This below information applies to all leagues in the English Clubs Championship (mens levels 3-12) and Womens RFU Leagues (levels 2-5).

Please note where there is a * in the Womens league standings, this position/points total is pending a RFU Disputes case.

The tables for levels 4 to 7 only show promotion and relegation, they take no account of any potential level transfers.  These will be reviewed in the coming weeks in accordance with the normal end of season process.

Please look at the RFU’s Club Support FAQs document for further details, including methodology.

Kent Rural Leagues

As you know Kent do not have actual promotion and relegation in the Kent Junior Leagues.  The make up of the following season’s divisions is worked out by club preferences as far as possible and then the Committee’s decisions when any preference is not achievable. However, the Champions and Runners Up of the divisions are presented with plaques at the end of the season denoting those positions.

Therefore your Committee has also agreed the winners and runners up spots based on predictive results of the matches that could not be played because of the corona virus crisis.
