It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Hodson, a true stalwart of Kent Rugby.
Terry devoted over two decades to the development of young players through his outstanding work as Manager of the Kent Under 20s and Under 21s squads. His passion, commitment, and unwavering support for the county’s development programme made him an institution within Kent Rugby.
Earlier in his rugby journey, Terry proudly represented Kent as a player and was a long-standing member of Old Elthamians and Westcombe Park, before later moving to Deal & Betteshanger, where he continued to show his love for the game, always supporting from the sidelines.
As a manager and selector, Terry shaped the pathways of countless young players, and his tireless contributions were recently recognised with the prestigious President’s Award, honouring his exceptional service to the game.
Terry’s legacy will live on through the many players, coaches, and colleagues who had the privilege of working with him. His dedication and love for rugby have left an indelible mark on Kent Rugby.
Our thoughts are with Terry’s family and friends at this difficult time. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all.

His funeral will be held at Barham Crematorium, Canterbury Rd, Canterbury CT4 6QU on Friday 29th August at 10am. All who knew Terry are welcome.
They will be having family flowers only but invite people to donate in Terry’s memory through this page. The family they have set up a just giving page in Terry’s honour, all money donated will go to fund Kent Youth Rugby activities something he was very passionate about.
