Kent Society of Rugby Football Union Referees are running an Introduction to rugby refereeing the 15 a side game over 2 evenings. The purpose of this course is to encourage people to take up refereeing rugby union. Once completed you will be able to referee the 15- aside game and having completed this course it will give you a strong foundation to easily complete the RFU ERRA course if you wish in October.
The Course
The course includes an Introduction to refereeing the 15 a-side game of rugby union. Elements of the game will be highlighted and how to referee them.
Candidates will receive a whistle, lanyard and red/yellow cards. The course includes outdoor/on-field elements so suitable clothing is required. Law books are no longer supplied, but candidates can download via their mobile phones the Laws of Rugby Union from the World Rugby website.
Course Prerequisite
All candidates prior to the course should complete the free online RFU headcase course which deals with concussion protocols. You will need to have a GMS login. Choose the Match Officials option shown.
You must be at least 14 years old.
