The Assessment Day for players wishing to participate in the Kent U18 Girls Player Program will take place on Sunday 29th October at Dartford Valley Community Rugby Club Cotton Lane, Longfield DA2 6PD.
Players will meet at 10:30 for registration, with the assessment taking part between 11:15-15:15, depending upon the applicants.
Girls currently in school years 12 and 13 from September 2023 are invited to self-nominate, via their parents, to take part in the assessment day using the nominations form below.
The Kent u18 program is an additional training program, on top of Club or School training, for players who have the potential and ambition to progress further in their rugby. Players selected for the Kent U18’s will attend four training sessions from October 23 through to January 24, with the opportunity to participate in at least one of the three playing opportunities as part of the Kent squad.
The format of the day will be with players taking part in a warm-up followed by a series of games and exercises to demonstrate their skills and abilities.
The criteria we will use for assessing players is set out below – we share this to assist you and players in identifying areas to develop further should they wish to be assessed for the program again in the future:
For players not selected to participate, we will endeavour to provide feedback which they can work on with their club or school coaches.
This is a self-nomination process, but discussion with club coaches is recommended before nomination. Club and school coaches are welcome to attend and observe the session, as are parents. There will be refreshments available to purchase from the Dartford Valley clubhouse.
Parents are asked to register their daughter using the linked form. All registrations must be completed by midnight Sunday 15th October 2023
