Saturday 19th May 2018, The Set, Chiddingstone Sports Ground. Chiddingstone Badgers RFC took on the might of a Jamie Freeman Barbarians XV in their inaugural home match. Some 45 players took to the field over the course of the match which was a try fest worthy of the Premiership play-offs with the score playing out at 43-25 to the Barbarians. The annual charity game in memory of former Badger stalwart Ben Campbell-Johnston, one of 4 on the Badgers 2018 calendar, saw 300 locals attend as spectators and raised over £10K for State of Mind (The RFU’s charity for mental health) and local bereavement counseling charity Jigsaw South East. The Badgers (a largely vets populated outfit), Kent’s newest affiliated club, who look forward to going on tour to Austria in late August to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Viennese RFC, welcome newcomers and are seeking opposition for the 2019 season
