Kent County RFU is excited to support the formation of a new Kent “SuperVets” rugby team for players aged 50 and over.
The side will play friendly but competitive full-contact fixtures against established SuperVets teams from across the region, including Sussex, Surrey, Middlesex, Essex, Hertfordshire and Devon.
The initiative is being led by Dave Phillips of King’s College Hospital RFC Vets, with the focus firmly on keeping players involved in rugby, building camaraderie, and representing Kent in the true spirit of the game. Players of all abilities are welcome, with current SuperVets rugby featuring players well into their 60s.
The team plans to play a mixture of home and away fixtures next season, avoiding clashes with key veterans competitions such as Kent’s Spitfire Gold tournament.
Clubs are encouraged to:
Once sufficient registrations are received, a trial and social event will be organised.
The team is also proud to support the rugby mental health charity LooseHeadz, whose branding is planned to feature on team kit.
