The Women’s game has strong ties with Kent and as a County, we have always strived to put out the best women’s team in the county. We hold trials every year with a dedicated training programme for those selected. County coaches are appointed based on their expertise, experience, and commitment to the Women’s game. We are always welcome to hear from any level 2/3 coaches who wish to be involved in coaching women.
This season has seen a change in the format of the selection process for the squad. Two trial sessions were held at Charlton Park RFC with mixed teams of players from a variety of clubs competing against each other to showcase their skillset to the coaches and assessors. Feedback from players and their club coaches has been positive with many saying it was an enjoyable day and experience.
After two successful trial sessions and over 100 applications from women around the county, head coaches Peter McAlister and Andy Miller have selected this year’s representative squad (listed below).
14th May – Kent v Essex at Aylesford Bulls RFC, kick off at 3 pm
Kent Won – 45-5
21st May – Kent v Hampshire at Medway RFC, kick off at 3 pm
